About Mediarail

Mediarail Design is a graphic design studio based in the metro Atlanta, Georgia area. Derald Schultz is the principal creative and his educational background includes degrees in visual communications and printing & publishing. When it comes to learning Derald believes there is no substitute for real world experience and personal growth. He worked within the advertising and printing communities for more than 20 years before launching Mediarail Design in 1999. Derald continues to add value to his abilities by studying current trends in design, marketing, and branding. His creative talent and production background give Mediarail its unique perspective and capabilities.
The name "Mediarail" is inspired by the phases of the creative process: research, conceptualization, execution, production, and delivery. Mediarail is a concept to completion studio; similar to a train moving smoothly from destination to destination.
The underlying theme of the creative process is the art of good storytelling. Since the beginning of time, stories have been told to share information and create a connection between the author and the reader. In the marketplace, successful stories communicate a shared belief or value between a business and their existing and prospective customers.

Mark Martin Enterprises
Development of NASCAR driver Mark Martin's museum. The museum's goal is to provide visitors with a comprehensive time line of Mr. Martin's career. Over 40 boxes of memorabilia, newspaper articles and photographs were organized chronologically and used for large format displays and backdrops and other visuals to accentuate the display of his cars, racing suits, and awards.

At the age of six, Derald was fascinated with anything related to advertising: billboards, TV commercials, company slogans, and logos. He enjoyed rewriting and redrawing them to what he envisioned. Today, the creative arts that intrigued him at a very young age has continued into his adult life.
The idea for Mediarail Design came about in 1995 while he was preparing digital files for a commercial printer. He was surprised by the lack of creativity, layout and technical accuracy of the projects coming from well-known ad agencies and design firms. By 1999, Derald had acquired a core group of clients to launch Mediarail Design.
Today, when Derald is not chasing creative ideas he exercises enough to support his love for beef, ice cream and outdoor cooking. He also has a passion for old cars, reading, and the Green Bay Packers. Together, his wife Suzanne and seven year-old son Jack keep him lighthearted and grounded in life.
